Project: Miscellaneous BOS, 2014-2017

Location: Various, Aotearoa

Lead Architect and Guidance: Michael O'Sullivan, Bull O'Sullivan Architects

A selection of some of the work I was given while working at Bull O'Sullivan, including a concept site plan for a small suburban park development in Christchurch, the design and documentation of a brass handrail for the foyer of our office in Auckland and an extension and renovation of a small house.

With a focus on hand-craft, construction was also part of my role at BOS. I fabricated six circular windows for a small project on a property owned by Michael O’Sullivan in Christchurch. To avoid material waste I used the offcuts to build and paint 48 round shelves to accompany the windows in this project and feature in others.

A home/office project designed and built by Michael O’Sullivan - the Lyttelton Studio Retreat - acts as a satellite office and accommodation. I assisited with the assembly of all the first floor framing and then lived in the house for three months as it neared completion while working for Fletcher Earthquake Recovery in Christchurch. In lieu of board, my three colleagues and I worked on the finishing details of the house while Michael was in Auckland.
