Project: Grandparents Raising Grandchildren, 2013

This project proposed a social housing scheme for the charitable trust Grandparents Raising Grandchildren in a central location in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland city. The scheme included fifteen apartments, a pool, a rooftop garden and two workshop spaces at street level where the skill sets of the older generations could be utilised by locals and occupants. The building is located in an existing carpark lot on a historic street in Auckland. The undulating white brick facade and the circle windows are a playful interpretation of traditional design aspects of colonial architecture in Aotearoa, New Zealand.
