Project: Atmosphere, 2014

Atmosphere was a large scale fabrication project produced for an architectural light festival Luxcity in the then red-zoned and closed off CBD of post-earthquake Ōtautahi, Christchurch. The project, designed and fabricated with my 12 design studio peers, is a 10m (33ft) diameter ‘hot air balloon’ constructed from emergency balloons. I have put the balloon up three times since the event with my collaborator Simon Glaister.
