Project: The House that Politics Built: Parliament Aotearoa, 2015

Location: Tāmaki Makaurau

Based on the traditional card game of ‘Memory,’ Memory Lapse is a game of memory you will not forget. The game features ten things John Key has forgotten over the years, these spatialised into architectural ideas for the city.

The aim was to explore the potential of architecturalising political events through satire and experimentation with media. Memory Lapse not only found a way to satirise architecture, but it also found a way to turn architecture into a game. Here it is not just the humorous and recognisable content that makes the architecture accessible to the general public, but the method by which it is conveyed.
